Gone Review

Somehow Gone never got read until last week for English class. I don’t know exactly why I didn’t read it before, I guess I wasn’t into thinking about the end of life as we know it. Whatever the reason, I am definitely into the whole Gone series.

This book by Micheal Grant was probably one of the best books I have ever read. The plot is a fast read and it kept me guessing what Sam was going to do next. It is set in a beach town in California where a nuclear power plant proviedes energy for the whole town of Perdido Beach. Perdido Beach has a nickname: Fallout Alley because several years earlier, a nuclear fallout occured. There are two schools in Perdido Beach, the public schools and a private school called Coates Academy, a school for troubblesome, rich children.

Sam Temple is sitting in History class one day, listening to his teacher talk about the Civil War and the next minute, the teacher is gone. Is it another fallout or something bigger? Sam and everyone else under 15 is now stuck in the FAYZ(Fallout Alley Youth Zone). Wlll Sam figure out how to save everyone before his 15th birthday or will he dissapear forever?
