Banned Books Week officially starts next Monday, but we think it’s so important that we got started a little early this year! Banned Books Week is our annual celebration of your right to read. Many books are banned or challenged each year for content that a small group of people find offensive. This kind of censorship goes against our First Amendment rights as Americans. Stop by the library today and exercise your FREADOM— read a banned book!
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
