Perks of Being a Wallflower: Student Book Review

perksThe book Perks of being a Wallflower, by Stephen Chbosky really helped me understand how in high school some kids don’t fit in. The main character, Charlie, writes letters about his life to a student. The book shows that even through hardships, you can make friends with people that feel the same as you. Charlie is depressed throughout the novel because his Aunt dies and his best friend shot himself. Charlie makes friends with Sam and Patrick, both seniors. In this book, Charlie and his friends face the many highs and lows of high school. – Alexandra Rabbitt, 9th Grade
