The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society: Student Book Review

guernseyOver the quarter, I read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Anne Shaeffer and Annie Barrows. I would like to recommend this book to Gabby Donato because she read The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky and loved the structure of the book, fighting scenes, and learning while reading a fun fact filled novel. Both of these books are composed of letters. The novels are somewhat challenging but you feel as though you can really get to know the characters. From the book club lying to the soldiers in The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society to kids beaten up by their peers in The Perks of Being a Wallflower there are multiple scenes with action! Lastly, after reading The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society I learned a heap of information about World War II.- Isabella Roccograndi, 9th Grade
